A little bit of paint goes a long way. There was something muddy and almost dirty about earth-toned colors that previously covered the entire house so we freshened it up with crisp whites and a couple stark accents. Oh, and remember that wall? The construction crew worked their magic and knocked that sucker down. Now the room formerly known as the dungeon is bright and inviting. The built-in bar (which I initially contemplated tearing down) was given new life with a coat of deep grey paint and modern brushed brass hardware.
We also said goodbye to all the 70s lighting and hardware throughout the house. I took it upon myself to research and order replacements that would compliment our style, which was fun but proved to be more complicated than I anticipated. Wish there was an app that could pick everything out for you according to your home’s layout, taste, and price range. Any developers out there want to go in on a new business venture? Haha I’m only half kidding I think. Amazon, West Elm, CB2, Wayfair, School House Electric, and All Modern were my main go-to sites and have been great so far. One thing it did give me though was an excuse to visit the house and check on the progress every time a delivery would arrive. I try my hardest not to be one of those annoying, hovering clients who gets in the way. The crew has been really sweet to me so far but I wouldn’t blame them if there was some eye rolling going on behind my back lol. Well, that’s all for now folks.
